We stand on a planet that rotates at hundreds of miles per hour, yet we experience stillness. At a latitude of 42.97°, the Earth’s rotational speed is ≈ equal to the speed of sound (760 mph). This film explores what happens to our perception of sound at this latitude. We see a figure navigating their way across the landscape as they approach and cross 42.97˚. Filmed in the Pyrenees, between Spain and France, this was my final project for my Master’s degree.
