The field was purchased in autumn 2022. The pond was excavated several weeks later. During the first winter, there was a lot of rain, which quickly filled the pond. By spring, it was teeming with bugs, frogs, newts, dragonflies and other creatures. I was amazed at how quickly this happened, and at how clear the pond water was.
