This cleared section of forest marks the north/south border between Maine in the USA and New Brunswick in Canada, running as a vertical line through the centre of the frame. There is a one-hour time difference on either side of this border. The camera was placed on the border, facing north, and each half was photographed at 18:00 local time, with a one-hour interval due to the time zone boundary.
