In Mirrors, two people are positioned a set distance apart in the landscape, using mirrors to flash sunlight into the lens as a marker of time. The mirrors are flashed out of sync, and the duration between the flashes represents the time it would take the earth to rotate between the two mirrors at that latitude. In this instance, at N52˚46’30”, the distance between the people was 922ft and the duration between the flashes was 1 second.
